Mr. Sumey is
a veteran of the United States
Army and has been a member of
the American Legion since 1966.
Previously, he has served as
Commander, First Vice Commander,
Chaplain, Finance Officer, Chairman
of the Oratorical Committee,
Chairman of the Scholarship
Committee, Chairman of the Life
Membership Committee, Master
of Ceremonies of the Post’s
Memorial Day Program, and member
of both the By-laws and Budget
Committees. He is also an Honorary
Life Member of Post 223. A graduate
of Penn State University, Mr.
Sumey owned and operated an
accounting and income tax service
for 33 years. He is married
and has two children and four
grandchildren. In his spare
time, he enjoys traveling, camping,
big band music and Nittany Lion
